Manu Parekh

Conceptual Artist

Manu Parekh finds allure in polemics, infusing his works with organic energy and sensuality. His art compels viewers to confront emotions, pain, and anguish in the subjects, urging connection with the surroundings.

Vivid colors and bold lines radiate dynamic energy, extending beyond the canvas as an extension of his persona. Integral to Parekh’s style, vibrant hues and prominent lines carry the energy he captures. Influenced by his surroundings, his time in Calcutta led to an affinity for Santiniketan and Indian art stalwarts like Ram Kinkar Baij and Rabindranath Tagore.

Their impact goes beyond style, delving into the essence of his creations. Following his father’s passing, Banaras emerged as a cornerstone, offering myriad contradictions within its sacred realm. Parekh acknowledges the influence of his wife, self-taught artist Madhvi, and his admiration for Picasso. These facets collectively shape his art’s profound narrative.
